CHAPTER 2

I look at myself I'm the mirror for the umpteenth time to make sure I'm looking date-worthy. Not like I'm interested in they guy but at least I'm making efforts to look eye catching. I draw down my skirt as I leave the room and head to the living room 

"Vivian,where are you going?" Mum asked when I got to the living room. I immediately made my expressions very serious. "I'm going for evangelism mum,aren't you going?" I added to make it realer secretly wishing she would say no.

"Okay then,come back early " "sure mum" I said and almost ran outside. 

I met my other Friend in front of the gate as I came out. "Hey,where are you going?" She asked as soon as she saw me "Evangelism"I echoed almost believing my own lie

She smirked "I'm not ur mum,we both know that's a lie" I smiled at her response "so you weren't fooled,anyways .. I'm going for..um..you can call it a date"

"Date?? With who?"

"There's this guy I met in Mark's place ,asked me out on a date,and I wanna try it out ". "Oh,describe him,what's his name, is he handsome". 

"Um..his name is..um..Micheal and about handsome, I really don't care,he's not Christian,he's fair ,taller than me a bit. Actually if I see him now ,I can't recognize him,is that okay" she just nods in a thoughtful manner "so,will you be nice enough to escort me to the junction where I'll get a cab?"

"Oh sorry, sorta busy"

"Ish, bye bye" I Huff in annoyance as I make my way to my best friends cyber cafe. He's got no choice but to follow me .

"See now, he's not even calling. And you want me to leave you to go there all by yourself right so that when you get there,you'll find out he wasn't waiting in the first place right?I'm sure you know his crazy its gonna be bring stood up in that kinda place,its a university cafeteria for crying out loud" I just stare at my best friend as I don't know what to say, I wonder why he hasn't called too, looks like my supposedly first date is about to be ruined. "Chill first ,why did he choose Strafford university as the venue. Does he attend the school ?"

"No he doesn't,said he's got a friend there or something like that " "oh,I see, if he calls then you'll leave but if he doesn't I don't think its best for you to leave"

"Yeah right,I know that as well"

(45 hours later) 

""See,he's got no plans to call let's just go home jare"

He said pulling my hand as we both went to my house. I was so not allowed to see guys to the extent that even my best friend that we've been friends for more than 6 Years and both of my patents know him and his parents as well, they still said I mustn't see him so he just dropped me off  few houses to my place. 

Immediately I got home I just went to the kitchen straight and started making dinner as I knew that was what my mum was gonna ask me to do so what's the essence waiting already. 

After about 30 minutes when I was done cooking and all that my phone rang and I picked it up.

"Hello....".  "Hello,where are you?"I already knew who was on the line through his voice as he called with a different digit.

"Where do you think I'd be?I'm at home of course"

"Really?,I thought we had a date.I've been here for more than an hour. Vivian,this really isn't fair"

"And what makes you think I'll be there?, you didn't even give me a call. You expect me to just come there without assurance that you'll be waiting right and then I'll just get there and who knows and up being stood up?"

"So that's what you think of me ,anyways I guess we'll see some other time then. Bye"     "hmn hmm ,bye"

"So my date just got ruined and that's all you'll say right?" I say to Mary

"What's my business with that really,I think it's all good anyways ..because your love life is just complicated enough . I wonder why you agreed to go on a date with him in the first place,do you have his picture on your phone? Let me see how he looks like."

"Actually no,but let's check his whatsapp display picture though". I quickly browse through my whatsapp contacts and find out that its just a wrestler's picture he used as his display picture. But he's online though so its not so bad

"Hello".  "Hey babe".    "I'm good, and you?      "I'm cool too. Looks like I used a lucky charm today considering the fact that you chatted me up"

"Lol,nothing special . it's just that I'll like to see your picture"

"That's quite .....for what i may ask?,you wanna use it for something bad?"

"Lol,not at all. I would like to see you once more because I really didn't get the chance to see you the day we first met"

"Now that's quite funny. Okay then. No problem. But I don't really take pictures so I might be able to send only one right now. Is that okay by you?" 

"Sure it is.."in three seconds he sent the picture and I just told him bye unceremoniously and went offline. 

"So this the guy." I said showing Mary his picture

"Hmn,not bad but its not a bad thing the date got ruined though. Get yourself over Chris first"

"Okay,so you telling me that the date being cancelled is a good thing right?.okay then,no problems. How's David?"I ask switching the topic

"David is doing well,but there's this other guy I just met again right now. He's actually my ex but we broke up because of distance which means I'm still into him"she says had I just Huff.

"So..are you gonna date both of them together or what ??" I ask her as I ruffled my face features in confusion .....

"Brr brr brr brr brr" her phone rings and then thirty seconds after she's still on the phone call,I decide to leave her class to my mum's office as its a Friday and the school already closed earlier.

"I talked to Christian on Saturday,he said something like he loves me or like me but I'm not sure at all. I really don't know what's wrong with Christian, can't he read in between the lines and realise I've got feelings for him big time? 

Anyways Vivian, I don't think I can put down my whole thoughts in writing right now as your whole pages would just be filled up. I guess I'll just think that on my own like I usually do. Got to go Viv,I'll catch you tomorrow" 

I put down my pen after writing a few lines in my diary . I even forgot to include the fact that I and Micheal agreed to meet tomorrow in Church. 

Yeah right,got to find out that we attended the same church so we just gonna meet there. I think he's gonna be coming with Mark,that's cool with me anyways probably gonna make things a lot less awkward. 

Moreover I'll be going with my other friend, so sorry I skipped her name. She's binta by the way. 

Guess you guys will forgive my mistake in that aspect. Anyways,It's not gonna be nice if I digress right,so I Won't. But to be frank I kind of look forward to meeting him tomorrow. Just kind of anyways,at least his persistence got me hooked already. Really. Just like he said "it might work out" I doubt that though. There's still a Christian .
